mailrepo.de works with any mail system that can send BCC copies.

For emails to be archived automatically, your mail system must forward every incoming and outgoing email via BCC to your archiving address. There are several ways to achieve this:

  • Self-hosted mail server (e.g. Postfix, Exim, Sendmail)
    Configure always_bcc, sender_bcc_maps, or recipient_bcc_maps — we provide ready-made configuration snippets for all common MTAs.
  • Cloud mail provider (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, etc.)
    Use your provider's built-in BCC/journaling feature to automatically forward all emails to mailrepo.de.
  • Client-side forwarding (Outlook, Thunderbird, Sieve filters)
    If server-side BCC is not possible, you can set up an automatic forwarding rule in your email client.
